A poem about being overtired
I Am Tired

I am jaded    like an overworked horse,

Tired.    My life exhausted,

I live in a castle of selfishness

as weak-minded people full of tenacity dredge the very life

from my bones.  I started with

the exegesis of Biblical scriptures

but was quickly lost for all of

the answers vanished.      God was no more.

and the darkness leads my family astray

Insanity robbed me of my daughters,

& anger stole away my sons.

I do not fear time — For it has

already deprived me of my childbearing years.

I do not fear death,

for it already fills my heart.

But I fear life

For i must face tomorrow and tomorrow

and tomorrow.

I await small changes that never come.

Egocentric relations  leave my essence to haemorrhage from my body

I lay here cannibalized

a husk of what I used to be.

Unable to dream,  to live.

Yet I must wake tomorrow.

Inhale a new existence,  and

survive.
