From inside Dachau
A single flake drops.
It lands
on the precipice
of a sharp
gleaming star-burst of metal
which winds round and round the yard.
Cold spikes.
Stakes of wood.
A whimper in the dark
muffled by the snow.
I'm not worried about ever getting out
just other children
being dragged
in.
