A boy has trouble finding a home
My dad got a weekday job as a construction worker so I spend my days with Denny and his mom and grandmom. It was Wednesday I think, it was so long ago. Me and Denny were doing our cart routine when bang! I heard it. Bang! Bang!

“Put your hands up and your heads down!” a tall lanky man said when Denny ran up to his mom.

Bang!

I couldn't believe it. I saw Denny crippled on the floor clutching his leg, a stream of dark blood pouring out. It scared me, I screamed, then bang! I fell, then I felt a sharp pain in my chest and I started crying. Then it stopped, it all just stopped. The pain, the noise, the thought. I felt like I was flying! When it all came back I was in a large white room. Bleach smell filled my nose. I looked around and I saw Denny in a bed next to me. A nurse then walked in and said I was in a hospital. My dad was on my other side saying he found a place everybody could stay – Me, dad, Denny, his mom and grandmom. We were all safe.
