For everyone who's ever felt ignored. Prompt Entry for Images Through Time.
image prompt: http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Iridescent-raven/Myspace/shut_up.jpg

No one cares just what you say.
But that's okay.
You've learned to stop speaking anyway.

Father's taught you hard and well.
Mother's words,
The words of hell.

And no one cares just what you say.
But that's okay.
You've learned to stop caring anyway.

Brother tells you to just shut it.
You pause and shrug,
You're words aren't worth a fit.

Because no one cares just what you say.
But that's okay.
You've learned to deal now anyway.

The wall was already a dark, deep red,
Made of brick,
And painted bright when your knuckles bled.

The razor was sharp and thin
But your arm
Only felt dull when you pressed it in.

No one cares what you say.
So why stay?

The say you wrote two words on the wall that day.
I can't believe you just shut up went away.
