In Memoriam
There's a frown upon our faces
With the emptiness inside.
Can't seem to chase the blues away,
Our loneliness will not subside.

Everyone sat by her side
And shed those mournful tears
While sitting and remembering you
Throughout those precious years.

Memories of happy times
Right up to the end
Of her being more
Than just the very best of friends.

She was a daughter, wife, and mother;
But, to us, she was so much more.
Her immeasurable love has escaped
From every single pore.

Always wise, always encouraging,
Always trying to make us smile.
She was definitely one of a kind,
Always going the extra mile.

The morning sun was shining,
Shining with all its might.
The pinks and the purples of the sky
Was such a beautiful sight.

Not a cloud blocked the sun,
Shining with all array.
Surely no one knew
Today she would go away.

Playful children were running outside
On grass filled with dew.
God's hands were placed on her now
And she was in His view.

The angles were excited,
Awaiting their new arrival.
Jesus was heading down to her
To assure her spirit's survival.

God had prepared her a home
On the streets enlayed with gold—
A wonderful land
That would never grow old.

Before Jesus' descent,
God held out his hand.
"Angels, observe the tears of her family
That could fill this vast land.

"This angel on Earth,
With her love and grace,
Has touched so many lives,
Allowing them to see My face.

"Her pain must be stopped,
Her body restored!
Jesus, explain this to those
Whom she truly adored."

The angels stopped their celebration,
For they could see the pain
On the face of the Creator
For a decision that could not wane.

The time had come that
All of her dear loved ones
Said their painful goodbyes
With smiles bright as a million suns.

The smiles were meant
To keep her strong
In this dark hour,
But they could not be more wrong.

The light in her eyes
Seemed to brighten
Just as her heavy heart
Began to lighten.

She felt her wings
Begin to unfold
And knew that her story
Would not go untold.

Her spirit flew above the clouds
She felt as light as air.
She knew that she was going
Where her burdens would not dare.

And on this cloudless day,
Raindrops we could feel.
The sun still shown bright
As we began to kneel.

"Thank you, Lord, for your grace,"
We began to pray,
"But why is it raining
On this fateful day?"

Then the answer came to us:
It was not rain at all.
It was the angels' tear drops
That began to fall.

Tears of joy streamed from their eyes,
Joyous for her gracefully receiving their call,
Also tears of sorrow for
Making her leave us all.

She is now our angel
Watching over us all.
She'll be there to catch us
Every time we fall.

Memories of her can't be washed away
Like sand castles in the tide.
Forever this day will be known as
The day the angels cried.
