Written Aug. 2009. A poem about frustration.
Drained of color,
energy,
laughter.
Used up from
the inside
out.
Keeping up with
friends and
family
Gets harder and
harder
with time.
Smash a bowl
to the
floor,
Throw a trinket
at the
wall,
Rip a drawing
into
bits,
Cry and tell
myself to
snap out of it.
I HAVE to be
the rock,
the pillar,
I HAVE to keep
going
on,
I HAVE to be
there at
all times
For somebody
to
lean on.
But once I'd
like to
go away.
Once I'd like to
stay home,
relax,
Let my mind
wander,
roam.
Forget tomorrow,
yesterday,
next week.
To reach utter
calm,
peace,
Serenity within
the
mess.
To stop worrying
about
everything...
