A poem about trapped artistic expression
I’ve been stifled…by society.
Forced to conform to the norm.
And every last creativity
Was shadowed by the storm
Where’s the genius?
Where’s the soul?
Swallowed down the empty hole.
Insane allowance does not exist
Happiness too sorely missed
Drown the sorrows
Drown them deep
Laugh, Smile, they’ll appear
But genius knows its kind and beckons
Please return, please come near
Trapped the dragons in the dungeon
And so new art does not come forth
Childhood too soon forgotten
Responsibility on earth
Where’s my shield of imagine
Umbrella of hope and belief
Lost down inside
Locked with the dragon
Society won’t let them play
And so now to the final question
Two answers, now make the choice
Ask yourself
Can it be this way?
Can you let yourself, lose your voice?
