A poem about a deep affection.
Untitled

I put you on replay in my heart,
And the day gets just a little better.
I find reasons to smile,
Even when I don’t want to.
Like a record scratching out old-time love songs,
You bring me to a place where the sun shines,
And my soul feels complete.
I walk with a purpose, a spring in my step,
And I hope my steps lead me to you.
A tune that sticks in my head for days,
You are not going away.
I see you and I lose my breath,
Although you don’t see me,
Because you’re smiling and looking afar,
To a secret that brings you joy.
Your spirit radiates and finds me,
Like a beautiful disease I could die happy with.
And you make me want to believe,
In the things I said I never would.
And you make me want to believe,
That you could love me too.
