a poem about love
I hold on to your memory in times like this
I wrap myself in field of dafoldills
I smile and sing some old songs in times like this
Softly I move into the space that you left behind
These are the moments that matter
I hold onto your memory in times like this
This is the real thing
This is the catch all
This is the day that I will walk away with the crown
Movies and books and cds all stack up in the hallway
and there's no room to walk
But I have my thoughts of a greater day
A greater life
And for once I am not scared of my future
My future with you
My future making them
with you
I hold on to words that you have spoken
I breathe breath that you have held in.
Slowly I begin to change
Silently I begin to laugh
These days are golden.
These lives are meaningful
This is the last march
to the end that never comes
We walk in circles
We dance in circles
I hold on to the love we have made in times like this
It's all for you all for you all for you
And I need you to understand this
I need you to hold on to this.
You rest lightly with the blanket over the window
You rest silently as I watch you sleep
You watch me sleep
We are one
