Sometimes love is war
You trampled my feelings
Until bruises remained forever
Dark purple marks reminding me
Of your treacherous ways
I proudly wear them
As medals for bravery
Old war wounds
Telling me to soldier on
March towards my future
A future brighter and better
Since you were left on the battlefield
I am the victor
