Childhood memories manifested in poetry
Gah!
Came the yelp
from the
bath-room
‘Twas a typical
sticky–summer day
Basketball-Swimming-Showers–then a movie
Cool dark basement
Dazy peace pierced by
Panic running out of the bathroom
“There was a freaking hornet in my swim trunks!”
Terror, Relief
Brewed in his eyes
We flopped on the floor
Crying
from Joy
At our friend’s bewilderment.

No matter how sweet enticing nolgia may seem,
Never–in civilized adulthood–will you find your privates confronted by an angry, stinging insect.
