This is a poem I wrote for my writing class. It's about first love and how it was lost.
Everything was perfect, just like the story.
It was love at first sight.
As soon as she saw him, she was sold.

Even her parents weren’t opposed to him,
until they met him.

“He’s too old,” they said.
“He’s dangerous!”

Yet she still loved him, no matter what they told her.


But here is where the story changes; Fairytales don’t always work out.

This time Juliet didn’t escape her parents
and Romeo couldn’t come find her on his own.

This time they would never be together again.

This time when Romeo died, Juliet wouldn’t be there to weep
over his beautiful, broken body.

And this time, Juliet would die alone.
