I don't actually have on older brother, but my friend does
He sat in that chair once
Once long ago
At least is seems like forever
I really don't know
When the colors weren't faded
And the fabric wasn't ripped
When the wood was good and sturdy
And the chair legs never slipped
He'd sit there for hours
Just reading his book
Or telling me stories
Of Peter Pan and Captain Hook
But he was still wild
Never missing a beat
Always laughing and smiling
No one could compete
He loved life as it was
Until he got older
When he wanted something more
And so he got colder
He stopped playing games
No more Peter or Captain Hook
He wanted to move out
And started reading history books
My smiling big brother
Where did you go?
Are you still in there?
Will I ever know?
You always have a choice
To leave childhood behind
To be happy with the little things
Just keep that in mind
So I'm passing on the message
To you and your friends
Just because your older
Doesn't mean childhood ends
