a poem written long after I should have been asleep.
Night brings no immediate pressure
Nor seeks out an instant pursuit
It rests and waits and ponders much
And wonders why there's such a rush
So many nights bring so many changes
Only to open and light rearrange them
Fend off rest and keep your sleep
Cause' once lids close
the questions cease
Night consumes outside the walls
Inside comforts peaceful halls
A snap lifts head from pillows bed
Releases breathe and all is dead.
So don't forget what you keep
night remembers
and stores it deep
The coming choice to answers sorrow
will bring night again tomorrow.
