Like a hawk seizing prey . . .


I see you.
Menacing, mocking, insulting.
Caught up in your eternal struggle.

I hear you.
Shouting, crying, pleading.
Knowing the price of attainment.

I feel you.
Aching, hurting, needing.
Desperately searching for release.

Yet

I am.
Powerless, hopeless, shattered.
As I watch you grasping at yet another bottle.


Like a hawk seizing prey . . .
