Short poem
Stunning Neon lights that lit my city
Beaming, vibrant bright and pretty
Gone, faded away like a childhood memory
Leaving the night, dark and cold like emery

Now only dim and dusty colored lines
Flickering, can’t form the letters in their signs
As they see the rich man laugh as he dines
Happily indulging on his thousand dollar wines
While in the alley behind the homeless feel shivers up their spines
As the wind talks with the sad, lonely pines
