Poem referring to the Morning Glory flower which only blooms at sunrise.
Like a sunset
The flower blooms:
Its many colors mixing
With those that dorn the sky
As it stretches out to meet the rays
Of daylight's king.

As I sit, and watch, and wonder
At this beauty, bud torn asunder,
Light's fiery monarch marches on
To higher places
And his subject falls asleep,
Long before night's regent greets
His subjects in the darkened sky
And later, once fiery friends and kings do leave,
Another morning day does greet
Along with loyal subjects fast asleep
And under daylight's royal eye
Awake he is to greet the sky.
