Written when about to retire for the evening, reflecting on a relationship.
As day looks downward,
Under night's outstretched wings,
Darkness prepares its subtle sting
and a place for poisoned eyes to close...
Whispering is the devil -
Hearing her, the breath to pass an ear,
The scent to pass a nose...
Clothed in silky dark,
The memory becomes reality -
For a fleeting moment,
Then gone is light, gone is dark,
But she remains.
