let me dream

I try so hard to hold on

to what i believe love should be

that dream that is my life

i slowly awake from the fantasy



my heart tells me to continue on

my soul yearns for that sweet nectar of love

but my lips remain dry and chaff

deprived of the only thing i want



spoken word holds no value

actions only go as far

what will it take to earn what i need the most
