maybe sometimes you can feel that prayers are answered ....a bit to late
Mercy

What could the rains change if they bothered to come this late?
Would they mist and sprinkle, then torrent,
growing from pool to flood.
Would it be better to ride the drought out;
Pretending that this clammy sweat is cool moisture sprayed gently on those caught in this blaze?
Are the rains that come to late just a menace of thier own?
Baked in fire then drowned:
What true deliverance would taunt us with that mercy.
Yes, I watched the clouds start to gather and I shook my fist a their relief.
I am watching one mercy fight the other and I wonder which one will finally destroy us
