The arrival of furies both real and imagined.
Approaching Storm
Criss Dane

The air grows ever dense
The sky fades to muted gloom
The songbirds wait in silence

In the wake of ambush without defense
The wind sings of coming doom
And the air grows ever dense

Daylight blinks with a desperate sense
Madness full in bloom
And the songbirds wait in silence

Life shambles on in failed pretense
While far off voices fume
And the air grows ever dense

Guilty of an unknown offense
Banished back to the womb
As the songbirds wait in silence

Lost now to unrelenting penance
The world becomes a tomb
As the air grows ever dense
And the songbirds wait in silence
