A tale of what an unrequite love could have been
I saw you only briefly in the fleeting felt of time
But still for just a while I longed to call you mine.
Unusual and special are the right words to describe
But somehow you just didn’t feel my silent pushing vibe.
The nights were short and perfect
And the heat the music cooled,
And I could not stay long enough
No time could not be fooled
Lingering and Longing did not the cares erase
And stuck was I in going through
This one-sided passionate chase.
You couldn’t know how I felt
Couldn’t see the care
For the only thing I could do
Was dream and sit and stare
You never heard my words or thoughts
Until the final day
And then nothing could be done
For I could never stay
The planes come in too quickly
Time doesn’t still in paradise
And I returned home sickly
With heart gripped in your vice.
The tide rolls in and out
Just as the days go by
But still I take a peek at pics
And longingly breathe a sigh
If it was true, if it was right
Would there have even been a chance
For now I’ll have to go to sleep
And dream up of the dance.
