#1 of 3, OBP, (message me for details). No order necessary.
You know, you never look like you’re looking for me
But don’t you know you can find me, please
And He will warm us if I can’t
And don’t they know that it’s all just right
And in this execution
I’ll sell my soul to the side of the road
To fall asleep with the highway’s code
Because that has brought me to your door
So many nights
In places so scattered I will shed my conscience and fears and tired skin
And they will know I’m on parade
And never want me back
And at the end of these days so failed
I bury my back and shoulders and chest and enter your kingdom in slight
And try to
I really try to
Peer through the bars
We look into each other’s eyes
Oh, how we do
And we drown
I drown in you
Oh, how I do just break
And I melt those goddamned sticks
And they apologize to us
For their years of service to the definitions of ‘youth’ and ‘grow the hell up’
And no longer need we read between the lines
And we can play that chord so sweet
Like your ice-white skin in my hopeless teeth
And don’t they know
They all must know
The Jews were right
Because you
You might be the first and only Christ
And we will just be
And you know how I mean
With what we’ve wanted so quiet we can finally sleep
And now
Now I see the Sun spilling onto the trees
And the leaves and the seeds
From your window will thank me
For finally
Finally letting Nature breathe
And I will hold you so right
And we’ll never need a single thing
Except for Death to be a gentleman
And rock himself to sleep
