One of the many reasons why men do for other men
Come hither, oh poor burdened beggar,
You with the greedy eyes of a dog;
For what does life mean
If you wander unseen,
Lost in the cold mountain fog?

Perhaps you’d be better off dead?
At least than to the swine you’d be fed.
Yet from down on your knees,
While bowing your head,
You pray for your life to be spared.

But why, silly beggar,
Should I refuse such bitter amusement?

For I slaughtered the rabbits that lived in this glen,
And your flesh is worth less than their flesh had been.
Oh, surly you know, that with one mighty blow,
Strait in to hell you will go-
But alas!
Your God is merciful.

Christ had once said;
“Give to all who should beg.”
And for the sake of my soul when I’m dead,
I please you with coin and feed you with bread.

For this;
You shall live as my servant,
And I shall die as your king.
