Thinking of that special person, and where my mind sometimes goes.
I want it all to fade to black
Painted black
To be covered in shadow
These images that flourish in my mind
These memories that tug so close to my heart

I want it all to drown
Breath no more
Take its last breath
To bury these thoughts in the deepest corner of my mind
To bury any evidence that they once existed

I want these strings to fade away
Cut from place
Severed from the pictures
Detached from all those things
That remind me of what once was had

I want....These thoughts to cease
The thoughts that claim that it was all nothing
The thoughts and voices that speak lies
The the time of the past meant nothing
And can be so easily lost

For these thoughts, these images
These strings, these shadows
The only pain they cause
Is the pain of memory from when you were once here
The pain that now comes from a future
Where it's unsure if you will reappear

But while the voices whisper
And the "wants" continue to speak
I know what it is
Where it is
My future belongs

Through whatever pains the past may bring
Through whatever pains the present may have
While I live without being able to see you
It is You that I love
And it is You that I know upon seeing
Will turn all this pain to bliss
And make that present
The most beautiful of them all
