love poems dedicated to valentine's day
Vision

Vision was in rainy night
Vision was in adroit incessant rain
Vision was in vagabond- breast
Vision was in sweet- hearted visage
Vision was on warm breasts
Vision was inside one mind’s house
Yet vision did not get the boundary
None gave life insurance to sight

Refusal

Two eyes were fixed in the window
Two eyes remained in the shade
Why you came and extended your hands?

Piercing sky came amazing moon
Crossing windows of your eyes
Came two doleful hands.

Love begged for fragrance less flowers
You refused; did not think:
Whom refused?

Rocks do melt to ardor
Why not heart?
Is heart a desolate desert?
Even meditation of whole
Life cannot wet it!
You’re not woman - but erosion
Everything of it is wastage for you.
If you’re not abductable
Then why extended two hands
Why Apsari came and stood on the door?

Emptiness

You left leaving me alone, you left this morning
Now alone, I’m alone, at this hard time.

Some of that time when you were beside me, this heart was full
Was vanity smashed in one moment?
Alone with lamentation inside the chest, I commute the universe
Without you this surrounding scenario is
Only blurred, so mighty time is burning now
My heart only loiters like frenzied stuffs.

Wandering aimlessly I have
Not built any idol inside this chest without you;

Is that why you alone exchanged garlands in Festival
And thus honored me?
Why turned depressed face to other side silently and
Hide tears? I want to know.
Yet what I saw in the shade of your eyes, should I say-
Death is there – should I walk in that path?

I’m a beggar, still stand alone with empty plate
Extended thirst afflicted heart.

Will not you make me life partner in your life?
Will only caricature persist in the mysterious desert then?

Or hesitation is captivated in this social anger and rule!
I’m rival to that rule.

Then why you’re still wallowing in false
Hesitation and Conflict?
I construct you in rhymes.

You left for a little while, it seems as if hundred years
Don’t prolong this time – give touch.

Without you I shall not be able to live alone even for one moment
Allow me to place head on breast, life partner.

I shall die at the beckoning of your eyes instant
Build a new world with you only.

Deceit

Set anchor in a new port, Girl?
You forgot that the boatman that left for
Faraway, might be late
To return;
Yet you girl, can you go faraway
Severing Rakhi?
After the time period those expecting eyes moving
In whirling air will look for you - then will you
Become water of another river,
Oscillate from lake to seized pond?

Are then you deceitful, really?
Will never allow him to construct home in desired-place
Only bewitch soul, never offer love?
Those women who’re eager to bewitch by offering beauty
You only worked as their representative by
Extending warm breast?

I shall not hate;
In affliction of frightfulness only
Start counting time; build in heart
Simple hut of thin leaves
If destroys tempest or hailstorm;
Will not fill begging plate with tears
I shall agree making spider’s net in memoirs of river.

You can go to somewhere else, to persuaded festival,
I will not get You, still bridal bed will be made in heart;
Exchange of garlands between souls will be accomplished
Will heart be blessed at the coarse glory of attainment?
With heavy chest full of non-attainment
Will one life not pass by death- anecdotes?

Response

Whole day was noiseless
Now it is clamorous
When you come and in a moment
Open inner door

One colorful envelope

You called me Biva
Curving eye- brows, flexing intense neck like that
As in the turn of Pahartoli
Hanging the sitting sun in the flank
Called me in a much familiar voice
Painted a sweet moment in your voice.

May be two legs in between two mountains
Got entangled in the gum of memoir, may be stuck up.
But inside your breast two clear foot- prints
May be still warms idle time.
Then inside your mind raise waves of Karnaphuli
Raise that indistinct form – does anyone make indifferent?
One moment’s exchange of sight, one moment’s desire
One moment’s eating of forbidden fruit, I cannot forget;
I can’t open doors of memoirs according to my desire
You come and call me then
In my eyes burns turn of Pahartoli;
In your lips burn:
Biva is my name;
One colorful envelope pasted inside the chest.
