something from high school
Things you have never seen lurk behind that door,

Things you have no interest in seeing strive in that place,

Monstrous things, things bigger than God herself are in there,

The answers to the questions and the question to the answers.

Sure the demons hunt me, waiting for my guard to

Go down, to devour me whole, but it is through my

Never ending march forward that I find the joys of

Life. Like Ashley. No not love, more of a fascination

Followed by an ever catching-up maturity that draws

Me toward her discolored hair, her slim body and off

The wall personality. But as much as the positive

Things draw me close to her, it is her impurities that

Truly memorize me. Like pollution in the atmosphere

To paint a breath-taking sunset across the evening sky her flaws paint

A picture so divine that Minerva herself must have

Been her artist. The way she speaks of shows,

Bands, kids and high school bullshit that shows and opens up to

Me and informs me that she is truly still young and

Innocent. A thought crosses behind that dark door, striving in

That place: could the attraction be to her innocence?

Could it be that I wish to destroy her innocence?

Could it be that I wish to preserve her innocence and

Protect her from the pitfalls of reality while I deal with

Them for her, the role of the dominant male?

Things you have never seen lurk behind that door,

Things you have no interest in seeing strive in that place,

Monstrous things, things bigger than God herself are in there,

The answers to the questions and the question to the answers.

Sure the demons hunt me, waiting for my guard to

Go down, to devour me whole, but it if through my

Never ending march forward that I find the joys of Life.

Like Ashley.
