Had to write a poem about "my soul story" for an assignment.
The Masterpiece of Birds

I found the masterpiece
of hunting once.
I found the masterpiece
of birds.  I found

It I found it
I found it.  I shot
the bird with the night feathers
down.  I kept it in The Cage For
Special Things.  I kept it

I kept it I
kept it.  I wore
my treasures of beaks and
dark-starred wings
and beady eyes.
I wore them

I wore
them I wore them.  I woke
up with bright in my ears.
There were dead birds all over
but hunters don’t cry.  Hunters

don’t cry hunters don’t
cry hunters
don’t cry.
