A poem about my husband's depression and the end of our marriage.
When you tried to run away and get lost, I followed you.
You stopped running.

When you needed more, I gave you all.
You took it.

When you shut out the world, I joined you in your dark cave.
You didn’t see me there.

When you lay down on the floor to die slowly, I spoke.
You never acknowledged my words.

When you vanished from sight, I waited.

When you returned, I asked no questions.

When you asked me to be supportive, I cried.
