I looked into the mirror one day and this is what I saw.
Blank, brown eyes,
Revealing absolutely nothing
Eyes may be the window to the soul,
But the windows to my soul
Are boarded up, closed to the world

Straight, black-brown hair
Parted on the side
Perpetually falling into my face,
The curtains in front of those boarded up windows
Helping me hide

A small, full mouth
Lips slightly parted
Open, unlike the windows to my soul
As if to say
Kisses for sale

A straight nose,
A little on the large side,
Yet somehow fitting perfectly in,
Completing the image

Thin, straight brows,
Plucked into almost oblivion
Starting to grow back a little
In between them

A wide, tall forehead
High cheekbones
A strong jaw

This is me
But not me
Only half of the whole picture
Just the outside
Because even I haven’t figured out
The other half of me
That hides behind
Blank, brown eyes
