It is from the point of view of a minority, especially gay and lesbians.
Running down that golden brick road
Searching for some seeds to sow

When things don't go the way they should
I'd like to run and hide if I could.

We are not over the rainbow
When we ask directions, they say no.

There's no such place as the land of Oz
We will never go there just because
They won't let us be where we aren't wanted
And this just leaves our own heads haunted.

What are we supposed to do?
Watch your media and say gaga-googoo?

But you know that cannot be true
In the past, what did we do?
Nothing, but speak the truth to you.

And for this you crucify us
Like Rosa Parks, we're not that far from the back of the bus.
