One of my first poems... wrote it quite a few years ago around age 15.
Deep in your heart, alone and cold
A place to hide and a place to fold
Dreams and wishes not quite clear
A sight to follow, behold the fear
Time and experience never shown true
Mentality of a child still quite new

Time not yet come, the path still sees no end
Confusion and plight take the light, no way to fend
The darkness never ending, Fear, The End?
Inquisitive looks and curious questions
The facade is dying, the battlements are broken
Lies and deviance take the throne, the truth remains unspoken

Do I fold? Do I give? Will yielding make it easier to live?
Life? Uneasy feelings fill the air
Choices and opinions take flight, can mean the end or bring new light
Grab the bottle? Take the gun?
Stay and fight? Turn and run?
