Rememberence
You see the poppies pinned on shirts,
and wonder what they’re for,
You never think of those who fought,
in that long lost war.

These fighters they did fight for you,
for their country they did die
But now they’re all but forgotten,
for the lives of many no one still does cry.

Do not forget their bravery,
as they fought for you
Even though they’re gone from earth,
they still have feelings too.

Bravery is dashed, all hope is diminished,
when you turn to war
Held together only by that all important promise,
The promise to serve your country till you can no more.

Today our lives are busy,
but it does not take much time
To remember those who died,
and saved our country fine

So stop and give a moment,
to those who gave their lives
No matter what they did for us,
be sure their memory survives.
