A poem about separated loved ones.
You're the essence in her
And all that she's worth.

You bring light when she's dark,
Though you're always too far

To bring what she needs,
what she dreams of at night,
The feel of your touch
and the look in your eyes.

The words on your mouth
That sweet lovely sound,

The whisper in her ear
That reminds her you're still here

To catch her when she falls
And to love her with your all,

But you're so far away,
And she can never seem to stay.

And through the time apart
          in that lonely, lonely year,
She closes her eyes
          and dreams you're still here.

A faint whisper in the wind,
A light caress upon her skin,

Your smell and your taste,
The illusioned look of your face.

You surround her in her time of need,
Though we all know there you'd be

If you could separate the stars
And soar off to your heart,

Your love, your world,
Your beautiful girl

And be there to say,
"I love you, babe."
