A poem about people being victims of past lives
Past Lives
So many people are products of their past
Events that happened, not meant to last.
But in the mind the emotional scars stay
Affecting the living from day to day
Someone is cutting, someone is crying
Someone holds a bottle of pills and thinks about dying.
Thoughts produce actions
Actions produce reactions.
Not seeing the future, just living in the past.
The businessman in the suit, the policewoman on the beat
The mother, the postman, the vicar away on retreat.
The young man sticking the needle into his arm
The runaway girl hiding out on a deserted farm.
The man found dead in the middle of the night,
He couldn't carry on , his spirit had lost the fight.
All are victims of past lives, as are those before them too.
Break the chain, stop now, before it happens to you.
