A look at life rom behind the walls of a jail that not everyone experiences.
Looking at their faces, you can sense the despair
long ago, they lost the ability to care.

Denial, anger, madness and rage
Emotions of every imaginable stage.

Rules and regulations that they strictly follow.
Any words of faint praise seem nothing but hollow.

You wonder how you ever got to this point,
sentenced to do life in the joint.

It's tough to focus on just doing your time
when this place takes away life in it's prime.

People all around but no one to trust,
learning to be cynical is surely a must.

The walls-ashen gray, reflecting the mood.
But at least it doesn't look as bad as the food.

Making us wear our drab issued clothing
does nothin but increase the amount of our loathing.

Berating and yelling, punishment en masse!
Who knew we'd become the new lowest class?

It seems that people have forgotten, I suspect,
how to treat others with a little respect.

To be in this mess, I didn't kill, steal or rob,
all I did was apply for this job.

And so, in the end, you can see it's not hard
making an inmate out of a guard.
