A poem I wrote in High School after watching Schindler's List, it shook me...badly
Down the streets – Crystal Night.
Down the streets, the men came marching
A sea of black, white, and murky gray,
Ice chilled eyes and predatory smiles
Watch as all hell is unleashed

Satan sighs in distasteful bliss,
As families are torn apart
Children ripped from mother's sanctuary
Lovers separated with one last kiss
Fated, to see each other, never again.

A trial by gunfire,
the ethnic battle lost.
Hurry now to move these people
and rush, their history to erase.

Six centuries of a lifetime,
one moment of obliteration.

See the men come marching, marching
All their hearts dead to the world
Guns ablaze and eyes devoid
Unaffected by the haunting cries.

Shadows shift, as one more falls now
Eyes unseeing; no longer among the living.
Blurry scenes, an everlasting moment
as time tracks by, eternity fleeting…

Now as the men are marching, marching
See the child, scarlet velvet, fascinating…
Against the wave of cruel death,

She walks…
She watches…

Ice blue eyes piercing darkness
Innocence saved, and heart set afire.
This child now, which no one sees
Observes the damage, and the cause.

Across the street she passes children,
All their shirts and dresses alike.
Of black and white, and pale gray
No attention paid this child receives
As the holy-mess proceeds in darkness.

Away she goes now, softly - sadly
at the door she stops and stares…
One child now, a burning beacon
To the few who witness her.

Emotions pure and openly viewed
She turns her back to the world around her,
Slipping silently through the door
to be seen, never more,

An angel assailed by the chaos current
Crying tears of redeeming grace.

So as the men come marching, marching
an angel graced the place this night
Where lives are lost and then forgotten,
Soon this tragedy shall be done.

For angels cry and god adorns them
the redeeming grace they do beseech.
Pray you now, for the lives that were lost there,
over half a century ago.

For like the angel watching, waiting
God grants those who do beseech.

Souls defiled are now reborn,
to watch and wait for their return.
Catch it now, I pray you try to.
The burning hate that sits inside

Sitting here, I'm wishing, praying.
That in this present we don’t;
repeat the sins of long ago.

Remember the angel, who walks among us.
In her scarlet velvet, and ice tinted eyes.
She observes and retains, and then does judge.

Pray you should that we do not repeat,
the fateful sins of that crystal night.

Dedicated to the many who lost their lives 50 years ago in a certain event, I do not wish to tell the name, but I hope that it is evident… Remember, we are very close, in this present day to repeating the sins of the past, we should do more than just pray for peace and love… ::shrugs:: I'm just an author with an opinion.
