How do you escape from something that follows you everywhere you go?
The sky is muddled with thick gray clouds,
but I feel the stars shimmer through the haze.
The air is thick, cold,
a light mist blows across my face.
The walking doesn't cease.
It drives me further,
pushes me, though my feet burn with pain.
I have no place to be,
only places to avoid.
What lies behind me keeps me moving.

The wind picks up,
settling the mist on my face
like a shroud.
I draw my hood closer,
hide my face from the world.
