Even after we lose our loved ones, the rest of the world goes on.
On the day you left, why didn't raindrops fall?

And the sun shone down and the birds did call.

And the people were smiling and joked and laughed

within just one day from the time you left.

And the moon shone brightly on the path of my grief

and I stood there upon disbelief.

You had come back to me and were smiling there,

and you stared at me, but to my despair;

it was only my heart wanting to see

your face once more right in front of me.

I knelt down in tears and looked to the sky,

and the stars, still shining, just went there by.

And they did so I could see how ungrateful I am,

for I knew you best than the rest of men.

Yet that's not enough, I need you once more,

to say "I love you" 'till my tongue is sore.

Since the day you left, why don't raindrops fall?

And the sun still shines, and the birds still call.
