Tis a poem about my bouts with hope
Where are you, Hope?
I have been longing
For your deceiving presence
You have left me alone
In a pool of sadness

Where are you, Hope?
I have missed you so---
I have longed for your touch,
For your false embrace

Hope, where art thou?
You have left me here
In a desert of loneliness
I am surrounded
By an abundance
Of nothingness

You have left me
In the ocean
Of self-resentment,
You have left me here
Alone

Because of you, Dear Hope
I long for hunger
For the food I have
Is polluted;
I long for thirst,
For I have drowned
In muddy waters

Hope, Come back
Return to me what I've lost,
What you've stolen
