This is a peom I wrote inspired by a book I read called "Prefect" by Natasha Friend. :(Sad
Character Becoming Life
A girl so sad she couldn 't cry,
On a day of terrible tragedy,
She wants it all to disappear,
But then it all comes back, she watches it with empty eyes.

She fills herself with false promises,
Of recovery and help, and love,
Then she creeps up in the middle of the night,
Woken by tears of sadness.

Unhappy with her eyes, her hair,
She seeks a different opinion,
So she tries to make herself feel what she wants,
With no care for the consequences or future.

The charade worn thin with time,
Her will strected already to far,
Waiting to fall she lies above the world,
The curtains closing, her character becoming life.

A friend the same as her and others,
Acting out her role in life,
Hapiness far from inside her soul,
She plasters up with a web of fake smiles.

She's just another black flame,
With no light or warmth in her eyes,
The audience, with cold disaprovel,
She turns away, runs away.

She feels alone in the world with no one here,
They're everywhere but no where,
She watches as it all disappears, spiraling downward into nothingness,
The safe bank, the lies, her flame.

A candle lit on Christams Eve,
Celebrating how far she's come,
But she musn't over-judge herself,
In fear of old habits coming alive.
