Picture: A cave
my mind,

eaten away by troglobites

forever whispering, yet saying nothing.

sounds of erosion bring me the comfort I need to exist.

my thoughts,

like stalactites, hang frozen in time.

drip, drip, dripping . . . drowns the deafening music.

sedimentary, free of worry, I relish the cavity of my brain.

once brilliant,

now an Ancient burial site.

recreation for the naïve explorers confident

their mastery will discover the secret to rescue me.

magic pills,

primitive limestone; solid, ineffective,

but not without wondrous beauty . . . more, more.

feed my hollow cave; the bats have come for their final feast.
