Having faith in yourself can make it possible to overcome anything.
Faint echos in the darkness
of another place and time,
slowly stir the swirling mists of my mind,
as the memories struggle to gain
a foothold in the night.

Solid, and yet, ghostly, they haunt
my waking hours
and drive the sleep from my eyes
long after midnight.

Shimmering lights off in the distance
whisper a promise of sanctuary,
but the comfort of their glow seems
like a lifetime away
and forever out of reach.

The first true fluttering of panic
come to life in my chest.
My breathing quickens,
as my hands begin to tremble.
A thin film of fear induced sweat
forms on my brow,
as my throat closes and becomes
as dry as the desert wastelands
that lie to The South.

The dragon calls to me from His lair,
taunting me,
daring me to find the courage to face him
in the tangled web of my dreams.

Knowing the only way to find
everlasting peace,
is to draw my sword one final time,
I step out into the night,
along the path of my destiny.

Looking back,
I survey from where I have come,
and know that I have overcome much
in the Name of Love.

Looking forward, to where my heart leads,
I acknowledge the rough journey ahead,
and the sacrifice that must be endured,
if I am to obtain my hearts desire.

Looking around me, in the present,
I realize that there lives in me
a force that is finally stronger,
and far more potent
than the dragon.

This night......
Victory will finally be mine.
