How fear holds us back from doing our best.
The scoundrel of our soul, the captivity of our lives.
An emotion, but much more.

Terror, anguish, pain,
Our constant drive to overcome,
Yet always done in vain.

It hooks us like a claw, holds us like a net,
And no matter how many threads you cut,
You will never truly escape.

To be a lord, to be a light, to be our best,
Fear looks upon us as a jest.
Laughing in the shadows,
Stalking in the dark.

It captures each and every prey.
