A poem deplicting the horrors of street violence
I sit and I listed while all is still
Listening for the laughter of the children
But it's so quiet, I hear nothing
Where are the babies, why are they silent

My heart cries as I hear it again and again
I weep inside for the precious soul of another
Few and even imangine the pain that is felt
By the ones left behind, the Mothers and Fathers

Their crimson blood flows from their wounds
Night after night gunshots fill the air
Young bodies lay limp as people walk by
Their last breath of life marked with a teddybear

How many of our children must lose their lives?
How much violence can we continually ignore?
What does it take to stop the insanity?
How long will it be till we stand and say "NO MORE?"
