Patchwork Heart (7/24/2010)

Barely held together
With a thousand crimson threads
Thinner than paper.
Still, my heart is yours
Forever and always,
No matter what may happen.
Stitched up like
A worn piece of fabric,
But still beating.
Beating just for you
With everything it has;
With everything I have.
Sometimes I fear
That it will simply stop,
That it will fall apart;
That I will fall apart.
But you hold it together;
You hold me together.
Scars that cannot heal,
But that exist
Because of you.
No more wounds
That can’t be closed.
Forever.
