Who am I to question a woman's proper place? This is how some would have it.
We would be wives
I, hers and she, mine
if that's what you think would be proper
I want no say in this
and so when things go wrong
    when the nights are cold
and I am dying slowly, lonely
with no heartbeat pressed to my bosom
no bosom pressed to my bosom
I can clearly say that
it's not what I would have chosen

We would be wives
each pressed under fear and pain
beautifully subdued and meek
apart, held where we belong
so breed me like a bitch
if that's what you think would be proper
I want no say in this
and so when things go wrong
    when the nights are hot
    and I am burning
and my fingers make dents in the mattress
    and my eyes twist shut
and I hate every second of his pleasure
I can clearly say that
it's not what I would have chosen

so breed me like a bitch
it's all I'm good for
never let it be said
that I had any say in this
and so when things go wrong
I can clearly say
                            "fuck"
