I saw a picture of a little girl with sad eyes starring out a door.
I look out my door, yet hope is so far.
Waiting for someone to come, my hunger gnawing.
Life is not fair, does anyone hear a car.
It has been days since Mom left, I keep calling.
Where can she be, did I do something wrong?
How will I care for my little brother? Please come back.
I don't know what hurts more my heart or my stomach, how long?
Will it take for her to find food, So much we lack.
I didn't mean to cry, Did she leave because of my tears?
If you come back, I won't cry out loud, I promise.
When the night comes, there are all my fears.
Yet I am not alone, there are also cries of His.
Do I hear the rumble of her car in the distance, Maybe?
I know My mother loves me, just the drugs have a high cost.
So I look out the door, and wait and see.
