A lifetime of devotion
Dancing in the moonlight

Dancing in the moonlight
Warm summer breeze
Dancing in the moonlight
Beneath magnolia trees

We thought we’d live forever
Our love would never die
We’d never break each other’s hearts
I’d never make you cry

Dancing in the moonlight
We held each other tight
Dancing in the moonlight
Nothing ever felt so right

We were only seventeen
They said we didn’t know
How life would work against us
The older we would grow

Dancing in the moonlight
The day that we were wed
Dancing in the moonlight
We defied what they had said

Some words said in anger
We both made each other sad
The years we spent together
Far more good than bad

Dancing in the moonlight
With our oldest daughter Sue
Dancing in the moonlight
Though the Lord has taken you

You wouldn’t want me to cry
But there was nothing I could do
I’ll struggle to finish out this life
Until I'm once again with you
