A contest entery for What's in a name.
Katiedid

As a girl of eight, I lost my source for this name,
A woman who believed everyone should be who they are,
A woman who, at 92 could still play many a game,
And who could encourage anyone to follow their dreams.

The name I use as my handle,
Came from my great-grandmother.
The love she gave in saying this name,
Made it so it never again sounded the same.

So why do I use it you ask?
Because I remember little else about her.
I know her cooking secrets through mom,
But the name I can still hear her whisper.

This name means a lot to me,
As does the work you see.
When I am writing I use it to show,
That I still remember my biggest fan.
